Review of Columbus (The Palms) by java on Fri, 24 Oct 2008:

I also had to experience what could only be described as warm milk, under the name of a flat white, but it was served with a side dish of attitude that complimented the whole horrible experience. Upon complaining I was brought another cup of tepid light brown milk that had at some stage picked up an aroma of spent coffee grinds. This is unfortunate as the coffees served at Westfield columbus have been consistently good.

Review of Robert Harris Northlands by java on Fri, 24 Oct 2008:

Amazing what a change of ownership and espresso machine will do! I have had many a good coffee here but it seems they cannot hold onto good staff, baristas included! It is a bit of hit and miss as to who is on the pump as to how good your cupa will be. Food as usual for RH is boring and the selection is 70s predictable. As for the decor which has changed and out of the Franchise owners hands is best described as playtime in the asylum.

Review of Pukeko Junction by java on Fri, 24 Oct 2008:

No icon for extremely fantastic but anyway, well worth the drive out of Christchurch and a definite stop coming or going to experience heavenly food and brilliant coffee. Atmosphere is great especially in winter when the logburner is going, service is also great except when they are busy which is most of the time, but well worth the wait. The breakfast is to die for if you are really hungry but you are spoilt for choice as the food display is like Xmas all over again. Back to the coffee, Mouth watering and always have two as one is just not enough and that will tide me over till my next visit.

Great coffee, good food, shame about the location and people walking through, really cold and drafty in winter, good service.

Review of Oddfellow's by java on Fri, 24 Oct 2008:

Brilliant food and coffee, I wished nobody else knew about the place, so I didn't have to park a mile away to get my fix. They need bigger premises to feed the hoardes and give some elbow room. Friendly staff

Review of MOS by java on Mon, 08 Feb 2010:

This place needs some identity, It is not the kind of place that draws you in but once inside you are in for a shock, the cheapest coffee $3 and the best taste in Christchurch. The food on the other hand was not inviting and nothing in the cabinet could tempt me. But if it is all about the coffee go there. Well done guys 9/10

Review of Mitchelli's by java on Mon, 22 Mar 2010:

Great coffee, great atmosphere, food is fantastic. staff really friendly. The cafe is small with a few tables outside downstairs and seating upstairs. Grab the balcony table and drift back to Italy.

Review of The Lyttelton Lounge by java on Sun, 28 Mar 2010:

Another dark horse in appearence, Slightly off the main drag, but makes up for it in spades. Fantastic coffee, great setting and ambience. Well worth the visit after the farmers market. I missed out on the blueberry muffins but enjoyed the rasperry after the bacon and egg tart with salsa and salad. Next time two coffees the second one to savour the fine nutty taste. Well done 5 stars.
